BURRITOS FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Mesquite will be donating a percentage of all Burrito (including Breakfast) and Merch sales from this month to Susan G. Komen, the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer. This is a cause near and dear to us, as it has affected one of our own.

Read Isabel’s story below:

Meet Isabel Tolano, a woman of extraordinary strength and
resilience who has been a part of the Mesquite family for over 3 years. In 2018 at the age of 35, Isabel’s life took an unexpected and daunting turn when she received a breast cancer diagnosis.

“My life stopped when I was diagnosed,” Isabel reflects on the moment that changed her life forever. She had a long journey through cancer treatment, with 18 weeks of chemotherapy, which lead to the loss of movement in her left arm. Additionally, she faced 48 days of daily radiation and underwent the surgical removal of her left breast. To secure her ongoing health, Isabel will be taking chemotherapy pills for an entire decade.

The turning point came when Isabel received the uplifting
news of her remission, bringing excitement of being able to go back to work and enjoy life with her daughters and grand baby. Her powerful message to women everywhere is crystal clear: “I would like women to make sure they get
checked no matter their age. Breast cancer can happen to any woman, and early detection is crucial for survival.” Isabel’s journey serves as a reminder
of the importance of early intervention and fundraising to help fight for the
cure for Breast Cancer!
